Musical studies in Papua New Guinea, West Africa, India, Trinidad & Tobago. Author of «Balafon Beat» (publisher: Verlag Zimmermann). DVD about the balafon with Aly Keita (Le Salon de Musique / Paris).

Studies of Jazz/Rock/Pop at ”Universität für Musik und Theater” Hamburg and “Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts Southern Denmark” Odense / Denmark. Scholarship of “Yehudi Menuhin e.V.”program “Live Music Now”. Musical director and solo-performance of the play “Horror Vacui” at “Deutsches Schauspielhaus” Hamburg. Workshops with Rajeev Devastali / Pune and at “Karnataka College of Music” Bangalore / Indien. Masterclasses with Marc Nauseef, Gene Calderazzo, Dom Famularo, Jojo Mayer, Gary Husband u.a. Vit Kristan was born in Pelhrimov /Czech republic. Studied jazz and classical piano at the "Conservatory of Jaroslav Ježek" / Prague in the class of Irina Kondratenko, Ondrej Kabrna and Jirí Ružicka. From 2007 - 2010 he studied at the "Jazz Academy" in Katowice with Wojciech Niedziela and Ed Partyka. Studies at the "Jazz Academy" / Odense (Denmark). Collaboration with Jan Pribyl Quintet (CZ), Tomáš Hobzek Quartet (CZ), Jaroslav Bothur Kvartet (Poland), Big band of Jazz Academy in Katowice, Hugo Rasmussen (DK), Anders Provis (DK), Richard Anderson (DK), David Doruzka (CZ), Bo Stief (DK), Jaromir Honzak (CZ). He won the second award at the jazz competiton "Jazz nad Odra" in 2009. Played at Jazz festival in Afyon in Turkey, Jelenia Gora in Poland, "Jazz meets world" solo piano festival Prague, "Jazzinec festival" in Trutnov etc. https://www.facebook.com/vitkristanproject
