MTB - Trio

This trio found each other in Berlin. The three musicians balance their own compositions between straight ahead, free improvisation and various other styles.

Béla Meinberg was a scholarship holder of the Oscar and Vera Ritter Foundation and winner of the first Steinway Promotional Award for Jazz Piano Solo and has already played with great musicians such as Billy Hart, Seamus Blake, Matt Penman, Chris Cheek, Doug Weiss or John Stowell. Yannik Tiemann studied jazz double bass with Dietmar Fuhr and Jonas Burgwinkel at the "Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln". After graduating, he moved to Berlin in 2018, where he now works as a bassist, composer and teacher. He quickly discovered his passion for composition and brought this enthusiasm to this trio. Ernst Bier studied with Billy Brooks, Charlie Persip, Vernell Fournier and Elvin Jones. In reference to his drumming, words such as "high sensitivity, dedication and constructiveness" were uttered early on. It was his initiative that led to the formation of this group.
