Bei dieser Band treffen zwei der vielseitigsten Trompeter Europas aufeinander. Mit ihren verschiedenen Hörnern, Ventil-Posaune und Bariton erzeugen die beiden Multiinstrumentalisten eine zusätzliche, fast schon als orchestral zu bezeichnende Fülle. Und deren Klangfarbenpracht kommt vor der lässig swingenden Spielkunst der mit Hubert Nuss am Piano, Ingmar Heller am Bass und Hans Dekker an den Drums versiert besetzten Rhythm-Section erst richtig zur Geltung.
Matthias Schriefl / Andy Haderer - 2 Generations of TrumpetsTwo of Europe's most versatile trumpeters join forces in this band. Austrian-born Andy Haderer holds the lead trumpet chair in the WDR Big Band and is a professor for jazz trumpet at the Musikhochschule Köln. Matthias Schriefl is nearly 20 years younger, winner of several important international awards and leads his band "Shreefpunk" and "Brazilian Motions". They create an almost orchestral scope with an assortment of horns, piccolo trumpet, kuhlohorn, valve trombone and baritone horn. The band's terrific sound spectrum is supported by the dynamic and spirited rhythm section consisting of Hubert Nuss on piano, Ingmar Heller on bass and Hans Dekker on drums. The repertoire contains witty originals as well as arrangements of jazz standards especially orchestrated for this group.
