"TRIA LINGVO - a success story of nearly ten years on jazz and other stages. This is reflected in numerous recordings, radio-productions and enthusiastic press reviews. Together, the three musicians do refer to 2 JAZZ ECHOS, more than 100 conjointly recorded CDs. Thus they have become an "indispensable keystone to the German jazz scene" (Harald Rehmann, Deutschlandfunk)."

In the beginning there is the idea of a music between a rock and a hard place; Jazz and Ethnic music - a third language; so to say: a "tria lingvo".

Though it is not a "bandleader" band but a real "collective" which nevertheless seems to be working.

As a midget formation lacking a harmony instrument the trio provides an ideal platform for musical encounters and is constantly looking for special inspiration by inviting musical guests (firstly among others Dominique Pifarély and Ramesh Shotham).

Then it finds its internationally renowned “soul mates” in the English trombone player Marc Bassey and the Hungarian violin player Zoltan Lantos, both of them playing their part in the musical world of “Lemke Nendza Hillmann” in a highly sensitive way.

The audience does like it, so does the press, which notes in the Jazz Podium that you hardly find another German jazz album which is similarly fascinating and diversified like this one. The trio rejoices and carries on. It is performing on the jazz ahead! (Bremen) at the German Night and is opening the "Vive le Jazz" festival. The idea for a 4th CD substantiates with the offer of recording at the studio of the German broadcast. The trio gladly snaps at the chance. It wants to document the nearly 10 years of development as live and pure - "At Its Purest" - as possible.

(...) reduction creates freedom at times. In any case if one combines such playfulness, ability and interaction with up-to-dateness and delight on such a high level like these three. (..) Jazzthetik 11/2012
