It's more than twenty years now that Ron Spielman has been on the road – as a musician, bandleader and solo artist. Meanwhile the guitar has become for him something like a body part and song writing his natural way of expressing himself.

Ron Spielman was born in 1964 in Schweinfurt and at the age of 14 he got his first guitar. He taught himself how to play by listening to artists like Hendrix, McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra, Cream and Traffic. Later he got into a circle of musicians from the US (his father is American) and during inspiring jam-session's he found a more professional access to the art of playing guitar.

In 1980 Ron started his first band called "Stoneground". The nineties saw him touring with his Little River Band, Steve Marriott, Dave Stewart, the Chick Corea Electric Band, Bob Geldorf and others. In 1999 Ron moved to Berlin to get in touch with new musicians and to broaden his musical horizon. After he had been recording eight albums with different bands he released his first solo-album "Sessions" in 2002. His collaboration with Till Brönner in 2004 led to the contribution of a song to the soundtrack of the very popular German movie "Was nützt die Liebe im Gedanken".

Initiated by producer, label-owner and jazz-drummer Torsten Krill Ron turned up one day with nothing but his guitar and his songs, just as he had been told. All the "rest" – two top-arrangers (Rainer Tempel and Ralf Schmid) from the young German Jazz-scene and a line up consisting of not less than 20 musicians such as Jo Ambros, Markus Bodenseh, Hakim Ludin or Cécile Verny created with their team-work a music that's got it all: intimacy, sentimental and uncompromising authentic.

In August 2005 he released his album "From My Songbook". It reflects the quintessence of his song writing with beautiful ballads and stronger songs. Based somewhere between Folk, Soul, classical R'n'B, Song writing and Jazz, Spielmans songs develop their own quality. Intelligent and poetic lyrics, authentic Blues- and Soul feeling, first-class song writing and impressing professional Co-musicians led to a recording of a balance seldom found.

Meanwhile he came to the fore of TV, too. In 2006, he and his album "From my songbook" was feature by Sat1 and ZDF.
