Studied classical piano and saxophone at different Music Academies (Gooik, Geraardsbergen and Aalst) and at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Gent. Graduated in June 1998 at the Jazz Department of the Royal Conservatory of Music, Brussels (bass teacher: Bart Denolf), and received the Diploma of Music Education. Followed workshops, classes and master classes with Salvatore LaRocca, Michel Hatzigeorgiou and Hein Van de Geyn.

After several years of intense touring, with concerts in Benelux, France, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Greece, Spain, Portugal and Australia, leaves the band in 2003.

PRIZES:

· Won 1st Prize at the 21st International Jazz Contest 1999 in Hoeilaart (Belgium) with the Alexi Tuomarila Quartet.

· Won 1st Prize at the 10th European Jazz Competition 2001 in Avignon (France) with the Alexi Tuomarila Quartet.

· Won 1st Prize with the Mike Roelofs Quartet and finalist with Trix at the 2002 Frazz Crossover Competition in Leeuwarden (northern Holland).

· Received 2nd Prize with the Frederik Leroux Quintet at the "Jazz Competition 2003", held during the Breda Jazz Festival, Holland.
