“There’s no such thing as good or bad directions in music.
There’s only well played or poorly played music.”

I started playing the piano when I was four years old. At the age of six, I had my first classical piano lessons. Three years later, I wrote my first song. When I was 12, I was already sitting at the organ and piano in our church congregation and had my first gigs – while Beethoven and Jean Michel Jarre took turns on my record player. At the same time, I began exploring the blues piano. Besides the blue notes, I discovered more and more that there are infinitely many facets to music.

When I was 15, I experimented with my first synthesizer and went into the studio and on tour for the first time. At the age of 22, I began studying classical piano at the Detmold academy of music (Münster department), and graduated in 2001. During my studies, I co-founded the band “the jazzjerks”.

Tours in various countries, including the USA and Canada, as a solo pianist and in different ensembles were followed by composing and producing music and doing studio work.

I currently compose, arrange and produce music for piano and different instruments, and also tour as a solo pianist and with the jazzjerks.
