Er war 1988/89 privater Gitarrenschüler von Joe Pass. Nach seinem Jazz-Studium an der Musikhochschule in Köln spielte er in 400 Shows als Erster Gitarrist in der Rockoper »Tommy« des The-Who-Gitarristen Pete Townsend. Als Begleitgitarrist kam Peter Autschbach weit herum: Er spielte u.a. mit Gloria Gaynor in Kairo und mit Heino in New York, und er wird immer wieder für Musicals wie »Joseph«, »Cabaret«, "La Cage aux Folles"und »West Side Story« engagiert, auch als Sänger und Schauspieler (»All you

In 1988/89 he was a private student of Joe Pass. After studying Jazz at the Musikhochschule Köln he played first guitar in 400 shows of the Rock opera "Tommy" by Pete Townsend. He acted worldwide as an accompanying guitar player. Among others he played with Gloria Gaynor in Kairo and with Heino in New York. He also maintains to play Musicals like "Joseph", "Cabaret", "La Cage aux Folles", "West Side Story", also as singer and actor ("All you need is love"). After doing a European Tour with "The Who's Tommy" in spring 2005 he's currently working for the Queen-show "We Will Rock You" in Cologne. Peter never stops to care for his own kind of music: Back in 1994 he founded the Autschbach-Projekt - now "Terminal A" - which presented his compositions in hundreds of concerts (Jazztage Leverkusen, WDR-Jazzfestival, Kumanovo Jazz Macedonia). Many TV-portraits about him were produced. He recorded 4 CDs and a Live-DVD with his Autschbach-Projekt. Since 1998 he is writing the Fingerstyle-Jazz-workshop for for the magazine "Akustik-Gitarre". 2001 he initiated to work with female Hammond-organist Barbara Dennerlein. Together they recorded the CD "Feelin‘ Dunk". Peter also writes teaching books: In 2002 his guitar-method in 3 volumes, each with one CD, was published.
