Holger Renneberg (1966) kam als Zehnjähriger zum ersten Mal mit einer Posaune in Kontakt und trat im Frühjahr 1980 in die Jazzband seiner damaligen Schule ein.
Nach einigen Jahren ausdauernden Hörens von altem Big-Band-Jazz begeisterte er sich für die Tuba, deren Beherrschung er sich autodidaktisch aneignete. Er spielte sie von 1990 bis 1993 in der "Delta Mood Jazzband", einem lokalen Jazztrio, das bundesweit unterwegs war, und seit 1993 ist er Tubist bei den Göttinger "Harmony Hoppers"
Holger RennebergHolger Renneberg, born in 1966, got his first trombone when he was ten and joined the Jazzband at his school in 1980.
After several years of listening to vintage Big-Band-Jazz, he decided to play the tuba in addition to his trombone. From 1990 to 1993 he was the tuba player of the "Delta Mood Jazzband, which was a local jazz-trio that played all over Germany, and since 1993 he plays the tuba with the "Harmony Hoppers" from Göttingen. He also played as a substitute in his former schoolband, so he stayed close to Big-Band-Jazz.
Nowadays he is, in addition to the "Harmony Hoppers", the tuba player of the "German Classic Jazz Orchestra" and, since 1985, the trombone player of the "New Orleans Syncopators" from Göttingen. He also plays both instruments as a substitute and on sessions in his region and in Berlin.
