Michael Langkamp wurde 1980 geboren in Hamm/Westfalen.
Seit 2001 studiert Michael Jazz am "Conservatorium van Amsterdam" bei Charles W. Green, Ruud Breuls und Jan Oosthof.
Auf der Bühne und auch durch Workshops ergaben sich bereits Begegnungen mit Jiggs Wigham, Andy Haderer, Terell Stafford, Claudio Roditi, Randy Brecker, Steve 'Stepko' Gut, Bo Nilssen, Allen Vizutti, Rob Madna, Ferdinand Povel, u.v.a.

Michael Langkamp, born July 1980, started playing the trumpet at the age of 9. After having lessons with germans well-known trumpet player Christian Kappe and saxophonist Uwe Plath he got soon interested in Jazz and started playing in local bigbands in NRW. From 1998-2003 he was member of Youth Jazz Orchestra NRW, with which he did a lot of touring inside and outside of Germany to e. g. Belarus, Greece, France, Andalusia, Morocco, Corea, etc., and was shortly member of Youth Jazz Orchestra Bavaria. From the South Africa Tour in 2004 until the end of 2005 he played in the concert band of germans Youth Jazz Orchestra ‚Bujazzo' conducted by Peter Herbolzheimer. During his 5 year study at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with one of Europes best known lead trumpet player Jan Oosthof and famous Jazz soloist Ruud Breuls and Ferdinand Povel he as well played in lots of dutch Pop- and Big Bands. After graduating from his studies in the summer of 2006 he played for half a year in the Stage Band for Princess Cruises in the Carribbean and Mexico and is now living as a musician in Hamburg. On different occasions he played and had lessons with musicians like Jiggs Wigham, Terell Stafford, Claudio Roditi, Randy Brecker, Steve 'Stepko' Gut, Bo Nilssen, Allen Vizutti, Wallace Roney, Rob Madna, Jim Manley, Paul Kuhn, Ack van Rooyen, Götz Alsmann, Barbara Dennerlein, John Ruocco, John Clayton, Dick Oatts und Ellen ten Damme, Dennis Rowland, Tony Cherry, Carmen McRae, Torsten Goods, Joe Gallardo, Bill Ramsey, Peter Herbolzheimer, etc.
