Bernd Jakob. (cl, bcl, ss, as, ts). clarinet and saxplayer in NRW. Plays Dixieland, Swing, Hardbop, classical and experimental music.

Bernd Jakob (*1961) started in the age of 11 with the clarinet. Following by: professional music-studies at Staatl. Hochschule für Musik, Detmold. Grade: Künstlerische Reifeprüfung (for Orchestra and Soloist) and Staatl. Musiklehrerprüfung (teaching clarinet). 10 years principal clarinetist at "Dortmunder junge Symphoniker". Classical musik, new music and experimental music (CD "Wasserturmmusik").

He plays classical music, experimental music, modern Jazz, Dixieland and Swing since 1978.

Concerts in Germany, Australia, USA, Great Britain, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, Austria.

He was a member in the bands: Revival-Jazzband, Dixietramps Dortmund, Dixiebrothers Minden, GBJA Dortmund (Bigband Lead. Uwe Plath) and Darktown-Stompers Dortmund.

Actually Bernd Jakob plays in the CDC (Cologne Dixieland Company), in his swing project: Swing&More (typically Benny Goodman Swing+Bossas etc. ), in a Jazz Duo with the famous guitar player Winfried Schickentanz (Swing, Modern, Bossa) and moreover in the 2013 new founded Riverboat Jazzband Witten and in many bands in NRW as a sideman or soloist.

The newest project is "Jazzbaguette". is a very succsesfully trioformation. They play some old french jazzmusic (Petite Fleur, Milord etc.) with Bernd Jakob: Clarinet, Sopran.- and Tenorsaxophon, Dr. Manfred Möhl: Banjo und Michael Ledig or Armin Runge: Double bass.

Since 1991 he is a teacher for clarinet, saxophone and ensembleplaying at the Städt. Musikschule in Herdecke/Ruhr.
