David Andres plays double bass as well as electric bass and lives in Cologne, Germany. Despite his young age, he already played concerts in almost every European country - a.o. at renowned Jazzfestivals like North Sea Jazz.

At the moment, he is studying Jazz at the Cologne Conservatory of Music with Dieter

Manderscheid and Michael Gustorff as his teachers for double bass and Marius Goldhammer as his teacher for electric bass.

David Andres was born in 1984 in Saarbrücken in South Western Germany. His musically active family encouraged him to take up the violoncello as a 6- years old already. With Heidrun Mertes-Ernst and Wolfram Hertel as his teachers, he won several first prizes and awards at the national competition "Jugend Musiziert".

Some years later, he decided to change instrument and started to take lessons with Jörg Jenner on electric bass in 1999. In the following years, he was very active in the local jazz scene and played in several bands from trio to bigband. In 2005, one of his projects named "Funkintension" won 3 prizes in the competition "Jugend Jazzt".

In this time, he met Christian Pabst (piano) and Andreas Klein (drums). Since 2006, they form the Christian Pabst Trio. They performed many concerts around Europe and were successful in many international competitions: International Jazz Contest Hoeilaart 2007, Amersfoort Jazz Talent Award 2009, Biberacher Jazzpreis 2008, Dutch Jazz Competition 2010.

In 2011 their debut album "Days Of Infinity" will be released on Challenge Records International.
