After playing in funkrock bands as a singer, songwriter and bass player, Hartog Eysman (1968, Amsterdam) went to Hilversum Conservatory. In 1996 he won the American Songbook Award, and won the 2nd prize at the 1997 Dutch Jazz Vocalists Contest. He toured with several theatre shows, a. o. 'Amerika' (Royal Airforce Orchestra), 'I Got Lyrics' (celebrating Ira Gershwin) and 'Afro Cuban Sanctus' (Nueva Manteca).
