Wenn Axel Zwingenberger heute eine Bühne betritt, dann spielt er meist rein akustisch an einem Konzertflügel - unplugged wäre untertrieben, er hat nämlich kein einziges Mikro auf der Bühne - und ab geht der Zug! Gefühlvolle Blues und rasend schnelle Boogies - dafür ist der Hamburger bekannt. Er variiert Stücke der 20er Jahre bis zu eigenen Kompositionen und überrascht sein Publikum mit der Vielfalt und dem Variantenreichtum dieser Musik und diesem swingenden Beat dem sich keiner entziehen kann.
Axel Zwingenberger soloAfter 11 years of conventional piano playing, he found his goal and never stepped aside since. In February 2013 Axel has celebrated his 40th stage anniversary with boogie woogie piano playing.
Although he performes mostly solo he is proud of his collaborations with Jazz and Blues greats, documented in more than 30 albums. Since 2009 he is member of a band with 3 friends from the UK called »The ABC&D of Boogie Woogie« - Axel Zwingenberger (p), Ben Waters (p + voc), Charlie Watts (dr) & Dave Green (b).
