born in 1975, father german, mother icelandic. studied jazz-piano at the conservatories in cologne and paris with hans lüdemann, john taylor, bill dobbins, daniel humair and francois theberge. in 2000 member of the european youth jazz orchestra. received the cologne jazz award in 2003. leads his own trio, recent cd "le grand lustucru - lars duppler trio plays kurt weill", the franco-german ensemble "alliance urbaine" and prepares a german-icelandic project called "rætur". published three cds wit
